For the design of Studio xOx, we wanted to work with someone we knew would inject the space with versatility, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

For the design of Studio xOx, we wanted to work with someone we knew would inject the space with versatility, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. That’s why we decided to make the most of interior designer Mia Lake’s unique talent and exceptional eye for detail. Mia Lake Interiors – with its heartfelt motto ‘make beautiful’ – was an easy choice.

Mia is all about creating high-end designs that aren’t just beautiful but highly functional too. It was of the greatest importance to Mia that she helped build something unique, of high quality, and that exuded luxury. She worked tirelessly to create a studio that was tailored to our clientele – people of all walks of life – and this is how you know a designer truly knows their craft.

When we approached Mia to curate an interior design showroom with Australian-sourced products, she saw an opportunity for the country to be on par as high-end international designers. She took the project on to design something almost for herself, as a designer. The potential to envision a space like no other for people in the field alongside those who simply love design was there and she ran with it. “We live in such a beautiful country with incredible talent and to have a showroom that celebrates Australian design and manufacturing is quite incredible – there was no doubt in my mind, I had to be a part of this!” she says.

The inspiration for the studio was to lose yourself in the beauty of what you see the same way one might while discovering a new culture abroad. In it, you will find lots of curves, much like winding roads that lead you on a journey of discovery. That perfect sweet spot between a juxtaposition of moment and stillness. We hope for you to wander, explore, discover, but at the same time, pause, be still, and soak up the wonders of sustainable Australian-crafted items.

The goal of Studio xOx was to make a retail store feel like nothing of the sort, but rather a destination you can escape to in order to experience still moments, with objects that have been hand-selected with plenty of time and thought. Stepping inside the showroom is an opportunity to appreciate every item as it is, much like you would admire artworks in an art gallery.

When we asked Mia what her favourite part of the studio was, she said, “the way I feel when standing in the showroom. It feels like an escape which makes me feel excited, creative, and inspired.” We hope you will feel the same when you visit Studio xOx too.
